Found It! A Just The Right Jewelry Organizer

by Nancy on January 17, 2013

Longstem over-the-door_whiteAfter a half-century of living I’ve finally figured out part of my learning style. (Yes, I am a slow learner!) It involves naming what I don’t want which helps me clarify what I do want.

Such was my process when I realized how out of control my jewelry/scarf storage solution was. In fact, a more accurate way to state that is I had no storage solution. I was leaving earrings and bracelets scattered randomly around the house because I hated using a jewelry box. My learning style, I realized, was I need to see everything in front of me. I don’t want to open a lid or shuffle through my closet for scarves hung on hooks in the dark depths.

Sorry for the out of focus. Even my poor camera couldn't focus on this dark box. No wonder my poor eyes couldn't.

My scarf storage “solution” was equally bad:

Scarves

Since I couldn’t see my scarves in my closet I tried folding them in a basket.

A fruitless search at The Container Store helped me realize I didn’t want a box and I didn’t want something that sat on a dresser. I wanted something that held jewelry AND scarves and I wanted to see everything in front of me at once. Then, I found it! The Longstem ¬†Overdoor/Wall Jewelry Organizer. Lots of people obviously love it because it has great reviews on Amazon.

Here’s how my accessories look now:

I can’t believe how much I love this jewelry organizer!

Here’s a closer shot. For the first time I can see everything. I also realize I don’t need to buy anymore bronze/coppery jewelry!

Getting my jewelry organized has to be one of the highlights of my holidays. I’ve even caught my husband and daughter staring at it because getting something organized is always just the right thing.

That is such a neat organizer! I love how everything is displayed where it’s easy to see.
