Why Didn’t I Think Of This? Keeping Bedsheet Sets Together

by Nancy on September 19, 2012

How many sets of bed sheets do you keep? When Joan and I helped people downsize we were frequently astounded at the numbers of sheets they had. One elderly woman we worked with had at least three dozen sets of sheets. To sort them we had to spread them all out in her backyard and it was like pulling teeth to get her to pare down the numbers of sets for her own bed to twelve (six cotton and six flannel.)

In reaction to that Joan and I went to the opposite extreme and keep one cotton set and one flannel set for each of the beds in our homes. That still means we have to store some sheets and recently I found this nifty idea from Martha Stewart on how to keep sheet sets together.

You simply fold and insert the sheet sets into one of the pillow cases. Try it. It’s so tidy, so elegant, so Martha, and it works!

I really like the idea of putting sheets in pillow cases.
