Last Minute Mother’s Day Ideas

by Nancy on May 12, 2012

E-readers make great gifts whether it be a Kindle or a Nook.

Tomorrow is Mother’s Day. Have you figured out what to do for your mom? Here are some last minute ideas:

  • For Reading Moms: How about sending her off for an hour or two with a freshly loaded Kindle or Nook? Or, if electronic readers aren’t her thing, a stack of the latest issues of her favorite magazines or a new book.
  • Spruce Up the Yard: A fast way to perk up a dreary porch, deck or patio is to sweep it off, wipe down the dust (and pollen) and add some big pots of flowers. Or venture out into the yard to rake away leaves, prune dead wood, mow the yard. If possible haul everything off to your city’s composting or trash site so mom doesn’t have to look at the piles of debris.
  • Spa Mom: Send her off to the spa for a mani/pedi, massage, facial or whatever her favorite indulgence may be.
  • Driving Mom: How about a family project to clean and detail mom’s car? Include changing the oil, checking the tire pressure, topping off all the fluids.
  • Tech Mom: Upgrade mom to a smartphone. It’s a gift she’ll use every single day of the year.
