Ten Gifts For Looking Good

by Joan and Nancy on November 25, 2011

This entry is part 4 of 12 in the series The 12 Posts of Christmas:2011

Who wouldn’t want a gift that keeps them looking good? Today we have an eclectic mix of ten ideas for the friends and daughters in your life who like to look their best.

Stunningly beautiful scarves. This scarf and other beauties are available from the Art Institute of Chicago. They make lush, rich statement pieces.
Flip flops. Practically everyone can find a use for a pair of flip flops. Joan found this huge selection of fun, colorful flip flops at Cafe Press.
The Invisibelt is a non-buckle belt to hold up your pants without a bulky buckle. This is such a great concept…we wish we had thought of it ourselves!
Color Spectrum Watch from the Metropolitan Museum of Art. A fun watch for a hip friend, the dial subtly changes color every second.
Clothing/style/color/shopping consultation. Everyone can use some help learning what looks best on them. We love our local style consultant, Nancy Taylor Farel, who works in the Boulder/Denver metropolitan area.
Magnifying mirror. A good quality magnifying mirror is an essential beauty tool. The Floxite Hand-Held 2-Sided Mirror with Stand, has good reviews, lies flat for travel and is a good deal, too ($19.99.)
Makeup lesson with a pro makes a fabulous gift for a special gal. Here are some makeup professionals that offer lessons in the Denver metropolitan area.
Skin resurfacing treatment without going to the dermatologist. Paula’s Choice introduced a duo skin resurfacing treatment this year to rave reviews. At $54.00 it’s less expensive than one facial and lasts longer, too.
Makeup brushes. Makeup artist, Sonia Kashuk has a well-regarded line of makeup brushes (and other products) carried by Target.  This set of essential eye makeup brushes is only $9.99. (Added bonus: each brush is labeled on the handle so you know what it’s for.
Callus Eliminator. This is one of Nancy’s favorite finds of the year. It’s a gel/lotion that dissolves dead skin on heels and feet. Combine Callus Eliminator and a PediEgg Foot File for the perfect girlfriend gift.
