Solving Common Scarf Tying Problems

by Nancy on November 4, 2011

Okay ladies, I found two more wonderful scarf tutorial videos this week. I love this first one because it’s short (about 2 minutes) and shows how to solve two common problems with scarves:

  1. How to tie a long bulky scarf so it comes out to the length you want it to be.
  2. How to tie a long silky scarf so it doesn’t slip around. (I have several of these and by mid-day the fabric slips  so I’m either choking because the tie has slipped up and tightened or I’m about to lose my scarf because the tie came undone and the scarf is about to slide off.

The second video I found is a different technique for tying the pretzel knot scarf. This is the scarf tie that lies flat on your collar bone and is a beautiful way to wear a longer scarf without adding tons of bulk to your chest. I originally wrote about this almost two years ago.  Many of you told me how much you liked that video but that you had to keep referring to it to remember how to make the tie.

That’s why I love this  Pretzel Knot Scarf Tying tutorial, from style blogger, Sally McGraw. For some reason it’s easier for me to understand. I think it depends on your learning style. Check it out and see what you think.
