If You’ve Got A Dog, You Need the Furminator

Nancy wrote a small, one sentence recommendation for this magical dog brush/comb in this gift post.  I think the SINGLE GREATEST INVENTION in all the world deserves a bit more.

If you have a dog or cat and he/she sheds, you NEED The Furminator.  At my house spring has sprung, bringing on intensive gardening outside and an explosion of dog hair inside.  It’s everywhere.  I’m vacuuming twice a day.  It’s dumbfounding how much hair two short-haired dogs can produce.  It’s not like they’re huskies or chows or anything.  But I still have dog hair in areas of my house one should never, ever have dog hair.

Last week, I mentioned the dog hair problem to Nancy.  Being a polite person, she said she hadn’t noticed the hair blanketing every surface when she was at my house.  Being generous, she offered to loan me her Furminator.

WHOA!  It’s ridiculous how much undercoat the Furminator removed from my dogs.  Pillows could be made.  The end result – the clouds of hair floating around the house were GREATLY REDUCED.

I immediately went to the Furminator store at Amazon to purchase my own.  Newer models aren’t cheap (mine was $45) but they do include a handy button that ejects the hair automatically. It’s like the awesome tool is now even awesome-er.

Here’s a cute YouTube video (not me, not my dog) that gives you an example of the power of the Furminator…

What more can I say?  If you’ve got a dog, a Furminator is Just The Right Thing!

I paid $45 for my Furminator a couple years ago. The most fabulous thing about the new ones is the eject button. I wonder if they’ll let me trade up?

Highly recommended on horses, too.
