We love our four-legged friends. Today we’re sharing a combination of gifts for your pets (sorry, we’re dog-centric) and for the people who love them.
Gifts for Animal Lovers
- Dog Blueprint Wall Art – $185 More pricey than most of our gift choices, these are lovely, classy prints made in the style of mid-century blueprints.
- Animal Art by Jeff Leedy – $69 Artist Jeff Leedy describes himself as a “collision between the cartoons of The New Yorker and Impressionist art.” These prints are not only beautiful the will make you laugh.
- Love My Pet” Earrings – $48 Joan says: A bit overpriced if you ask me, but I sure think they are cute. (The dog ones. I guess if you love cats those are cute too.)
- Custom Dog Pillows – $40-$55 Fun, modern, bright, custom-made dog pillows to throw on your couches and chairs.
- Bad Dog Tumblers or Inconvenient Kitty Tumblers-$35 Drinking glasses that will make you laugh every time you use them.
- Yoga Puppies calendar – $14 Simply too cute. Yoga Kittens too!
Gifts for Your Favorite Pet
- Best Bully Sticks Bully sticks are much better for your dog than rawhide chews. The problem is they are EXPENSIVE – at most retail pet stores they’re over $2 each! Joan found this great online site on a tip from her dog trainer. Buying in bulk brings the cost way down and you’ll always have something on hand to entertain your dog.
- FURminator deShedding tool for Cats and FURminator deShedding Tool for Dogs. Nancy and Joan swear by these and if you look at the 900+ reviews on Amazon lots of other people do too.
- Kong Zoom Groom Nancy says: I was dubious when I bought this rubber brush at the pet store. I didn’t think the wide rubber “bristles” would work but I was wrong. They brush out an incredible amount of hair, are perfect for washing your pet (they have a dog and cat version), wash easily and even very shy animals love them.
- Etsy Pet Store We have to give a shout-out to the Etsy (the online handmade marketplace) pet store. You can find virtually anything here for your favorite pet or pet lover; art, jewelry, clothing, home decor, custom made collars, bowls, clothing and leashes, just to name a few.
- Have a little piggy that snarfs down their food? The Kong Wobbler is a weighted dog “treat dispenser.” Nancy uses one for her 13 lb dachshund gobbler and it’s been a perfect solution to slow down his eating. The Brake-Fast dog bowl is another option to consider.
Beautiful Pet Art
- Animal portraits with a modern edge by Seann Vincente. We both have portraits of our dogs painted by Seann and love them so much we wrote about them in 8 Custom Gift Ideas You Have to Order Now.
- Wagging Tail Portraits is owned by artist Sherry Kendall. Her style is very different from Seann’s but equally compelling. Sherry paints gorgeous custom glass ornaments and portraits featuring pets.
